Dr Fabienne Reisen

Dr Fabienne Reisen and Dr Martin Cope are principal research scientists in the Climate Science Centre of CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere.

Fabienne specialises in biomass burning emissions and has led a wide range of projects addressing the issue of population exposures to toxics air contaminants, investigating the chemical composition of smoke plumes and how these impact air quality and public health. As part of the AQFx project, a smoke forecasting system in Victoria, Fabienne developed a STEM project where students build and deploy their own Smoke Observation Gadget (SMOG), a low-cost particle sensor linked to a Raspberry Pi.
