Jennifer Bartlett is a project manager at the Graduate School of Education at The University of Western Australia. She was project manager for the Answering the Call study, the first national mental health and wellbeing study of police and emergency services which was conducted on behalf of Beyond Blue with additional funding from the Bushfire & Natural Hazards CRC. The study surveyed over 20,000 employees, volunteers and former employees across the police, ambulance, fire and rescue, rural fire and emergency services sectors. Answering the Call established a national baseline of mental health and wellbeing in the sector and contributed to the senate inquiry ‘The people behind 000’. Previously she was project manager for Young Minds Matter, the Australian child and adolescent survey of mental health and wellbeing. She has broad experience in population surveys of mental health and wellbeing. She also project managed the Western Australian Coronial Suicide Information System and was the Chair of the WA Suicide Prevention Data Taskforce. She is currently project manager for After the Fires, a study investigating the impacts of the 2019/20 Black Summer bushfires on the mental health and wellbeing of first responders.
