Mr Paul Johnstone
Paul has been a firefighter with FRNSW for 36 years. As an Operational Firefighter and Station Officer, Paul spent most of his years in the inner city and surrounding fire stations. Paul has moved through the ranks and is currently Chief Superintendent Capability Management. This role leads FRNSW’s Capability in the areas of Fire, Rescue, Medical and Emergency Management.
As Program Lead for the Enhancing Medical Response Capability, which supports the FRNSW strategic priority of Medical Response, Paul has been involved in the Bystander Engagement and Firefighter Readiness (BEFR) from the beginning. Paul was part of the team that assisted in the development of the training, it’s trial as a Pilot Program, and its eventual rollout to firefighters across NSW. Paul also co-facilitates the training when scheduling allows.
