Dr Thomas Duff
Dr Thomas Duff specialises in research into fire behaviour, firefighting and fuels. He comes from a forestry background and focuses on work that can be used to improved practices or make better decisions. Recently he has worked on fire simulation, methods to predict impacts, fire observation and the process by which wet landscape dry and become flammable. His research at CFA is focused on understanding how fuels, weather, people and the landscape combine to affect the likelihood and outcomes of fires. This will be used to identify the best options for limiting and reducing impacts.
