Keynote | IRDR’s actions in support of the implementation of Sendai Framework
This talk address explores the strategic role of the Integrated Research on Disaster Risk(IRDR) programme in advancing the global implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. As a premier international platform for interdisciplinary collaboration, IRDR focuses on bridging the critical gap between scientific knowledge, policy formulation, and practical application. The presentation will highlight IRDR’s comprehensive efforts to enhance the scientific understanding of systemic and compounding risks, foster global research networks, and promote the integration of science into disaster risk reduction strategies. By facilitating knowledge exchange and supporting evidence-based decision-making, IRDR empowers stakeholders to transition from managing disasters to proactively managing risks.
