Stay Alert | Protect Yourself from Unauthorised Sellers Claiming Association with AFAC26

Keeping our emergency management community informed

As planning progresses for AFAC26, we want to remind all exhibitors, delegates, and partners to stay alert to potential scam activity. Large-scale national events like the AFAC Conference and Exhibition can sometimes attract unauthorised third parties falsely claiming to represent the event or its organisers.

These groups may contact participants to offer exhibition services, accommodation deals, sponsorship packages, or attendee contact lists that are not genuine or officially affiliated with AFAC or Hannover Fairs Australia.

What to watch for

Please be cautious if you receive unsolicited messages or offers that:

  • Come from email addresses not ending in @afac.com.au or @hannoverfairs.com.au

  • Offer attendee lists or databases for sale — AFAC does not sell or share personal data

  • Promise discounted accommodation, marketing opportunities, or exhibition upgrades outside the official AFAC channels

  • Request payment via unfamiliar bank accounts, PayPal, or cryptocurrency

  • Apply pressure to “book now” or “secure your package today”

How to stay protected

You can help prevent scams by taking a few simple precautions:

  • Verify before responding. Always confirm the sender’s email domain and contact the AFAC team directly if in doubt.

  • Trust only official communications. AFAC announcements, invoices and opportunities will always come from @afac.com.au or @hannoverfairs.com.au.

  • Avoid sharing personal or company information through unofficial channels.

  • Be cautious of third parties selling attendee lists. AFAC does not authorise or distribute delegate databases.

  • Report suspicious contact so our team can take appropriate action.

  • Official communication channels

All legitimate updates and information for AFAC26, held 18–21 August 2026 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, will be shared through official channels only.

You can find verified event information at: www.afacconference.com.au

If you receive a message or offer that seems suspicious, please contact us before taking any action via info@afacconference.com.au.

Working together to stay secure

By staying vigilant and verifying unsolicited contact, you help protect not only your organisation but the broader AFAC community. Please share this message with colleagues, contractors and suppliers to ensure everyone involved in AFAC26 remains informed and protected.

For questions or verification, reach out to the AFAC team directly  at info@afacconference.com.au.
