About Dr. Kamaljit K. Sangha
Dr Kamaljit Sangha works as an ecological economist at the Darwin Centre for Bushfire Research at Charles Darwin University. Her interests include developing mechanisms for Payments for Ecosystem Services (PES), assessing the value of ecosystems for their services (ES) including the intangible (non-marketable) costs of natural hazards and highlighting the role of natural systems for human wellbeing especially for Indigenous and local communities to inform policy decision making. She has published about 60 articles in various national and international journals, and conference proceedings. She is co-editor of a book on ‘Sustainable Land Sector Development in Northern Australia: Indigenous rights, aspirations, and cultural responsibilities’ published by the CRC press in 2019.
