Matt is a part of the Sustainable Development Unit within the Community Resilience and Risk Mitigation Branch of the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services. The Sustainable Development Unit carries a technical advice role, ensuring the State's interests regarding the hazard of bush fire, risk and resilience under Queensland State Planning Policy are addressed within State and local planning instruments. It also advises on referred development proposals interacting with natural hazard areas and facilitating responsive and strategic contributions to infrastructure planning and climate adaption. Matt has worked across a number of emergency management organisations within the Queensland and New South Wales State Governments and the Not for Profit Sector across the areas of strategy, policy and operations.
