About Dr. David Jones
Dr David Jones is Manager of Climate Services at the Bureau of Meteorology. In this role he is responsible for the delivery of the Bureau's climate service, with a team of approximately 40 people distributed across the country. Activities included climate prediction, monitoring of climate variability, drought and climate change, and working with users and stakeholders to help them better manage Australia's climate. A key part of the role is reducing the current and future cost of natural disasters, working across industry and government to support better responses and enhanced preparedness. David is a member of numerous national and international working groups and committees, and has worked extensively on project with developing countries to enhance climate services (particularly small island states) and strength knowledge around climate change.
