About Prof. Maureen Taylor

Maureen Taylor, (Ph.D. Purdue University) is a Professor in the School of Communication at the University of Technology Sydney. Before joining UTS, Taylor was a Professor and Director of the School of Advertising and Public Relations at the University of Tennessee. Taylor's public relations research has focused on nation building and civil society, dialogue, engagement and new technologies. In 2010, Taylor was honored by the Institute for Public Relations as a Pathfinder for an “original program of scholarly research that has made a significant contribution to the body of knowledge and practice of public relations.” Taylor is a member of the Arthur S. Page Society and serves as Editor in Chief of Public Relations Review, the largest and oldest journal dedicated to public relations research. In 2018, she was elected as a Fellow in the International Communication Association. Maureen Taylor has worked as a monitoring and evaluation specialist on strategic communication projects across Africa, Asia, E&E, and the MENA region for USAID, Department of State, European Union and DFID. In 2018-2019, Taylor worked on a Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC grant, “Preparing the community – An agency-based framework of community engagement for disaster preparation.”
