About Mika Peace
Mika has worked as a meteorologist in Adelaide, Darwin, Perth and Melbourne and continues to perform an operational forecasting and briefing role during extreme weather events. Her current role is lead researcher on the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC Coupled Fire-Atmosphere Modelling Project. Her work examines the interactions between a fire and the atmosphere and the effects of feedback loops on fire behaviour. She prepares case studies of bushfires and runs coupled fire-atmosphere simulations on a supercomputer. She works closely with partners in fire and emergency services agencies to produce research relevant to operational decisions.
