About Dr. Blythe McLennan

Blythe is a Research Fellow in the Centre for Urban Research at RMIT University. She is a human geographer who has been researching human and social dimensions of emergency management for 7 years. She currently co-leads a project for the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC called ‘Enabling sustainable emergency volunteering’. Within this project, her work focuses on supporting the emergency management sector to best enable and enhance the value of volunteering for communities before, during and after emergencies, over the next decade.
