About Marianne Foley
Marianne Foley is a Principal, Fire Safety Engineer, and Consulting Sector Leader for Arup's Australasia Region. She is an Arup Fellow, a nomination held by only 47 Arup staff globally, in recognition of design and technical excellence. Marianne has over 22 years of global experience in performance based fire engineering across buildings and transport infrastructure including award winning and high profile projects such as the Water Cube in Beijing, 8 Chifley Square, The National Portrait Gallery, One Shelley Street, 50 Martin Place, Martin Place metro (under design) and the Sydney Opera House. In 2010 Marianne won the NAWIC NSW Crystal Vision Award for the Advancement of Women and Engineering. In 2012 Marianne was recognised as one of Financial Review and Westpac Group's '100 Women of Influence' in Australia, and in 2015 she was the Seymour Whyte Distinguished Visiting Scholar for women in engineering. In 2016 she was awarded one of Australia's most innovative engineers by Engineers Australia for her work on fire engineering design of 50 Martin Place.
