About Caroline McCann
Caroline is a state government communication and engagement expert with over 20 years’ experience in several subject areas including emergency management, biosecurity, agriculture, mining, multicultural affairs, community building, crime prevention and community safety. Caroline is currently Head of Emergency Management Communications at the Department of Health and Human Services and is responsible for establishing the departmental readiness to meet public information/communication requirements for its emergency accountabilities by setting up the systems and processes to enable effective and efficient communication before, during and after emergencies. For the last ten years, she has worked primarily within the emergency management sector, in biosecurity and more broadly in the all emergencies arena and has held communication leadership, coordination and operational roles at the state, regional and incident levels for emergency response and recovery. She has also led a multi-jurisdictional team to deliver the National Biosecurity Communication and Engagement Framework.
