About Prof. Roger Jones
Roger Jones is a Professorial Research Fellow at the Victoria Institute of Sustainable Economic Strategies at Victoria University, Melbourne. He applies a transdisciplinary approach to understanding and managing strategic risk under climate change. He combines a wide range of knowledge and experience in science, policy and economics to build conceptual and mathematical models of these systems to be used to inform decision making. He has assessed climate risk across a range of industries including energy, transport, agriculture, infrastructure, water, environment and health. He is also working on a theory of climate as a heat engine that drives nonlinear change. Roger was Coordinating Lead Author on the chapter Foundations of Decision Making in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s Working Group II Fifth Assessment Report. He was also Coordinating Lead Author on the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report and a lead author on the Third Assessment Report.
