Bushfire safety e-Learning for workers across Australia
Workers across Australia may be exposed to bushfire risk while travelling for work, visiting clients, working remotely or operating onsite in unfamiliar locations. Yet, until now, there has been no nationally consistent bushfire safety learning experience designed specifically for this audience. This session introduces the new Bushfire Safety for Workers e-Learning module, developed by CFA in collaboration with fire and emergency service agencies across Australia through AFAC. Building on CFA’s original course and the experience of more than 25,000 previous participants, the mobile-friendly module uses interactive learning, realistic scenarios and lived-experience stories to support safer workplace decision-making.
Participants will explore the module’s four practical learning areas - Risk, Prepare, Travel and Survive - and consider how employers can incorporate the training into staff induction, seasonal preparedness, travel safety and workplace safety programs. The session will also outline the national implementation approach and opportunity to reach workers at scale through employers, industry bodies and agency learning systems.
