Aidan Galpin is a senior bushfire and land management professional with the South Australian Country Fire Service (SACFS), where he serves as Manager of the Bushfire Management Planning Unit and Executive Officer to the State Bushfire Coordination Committee (SBCC).
In this role, Aidan provides strategic leadership and oversight of South Australia’s bushfire management planning framework, including statewide risk assessment, policy integration, and interagency coordination across fire, land management, local government, and emergency services partners. His work supports the delivery of risk based, evidence driven Bushfire Management Area Plans, which focus on coordinated and collaborative bushfire mitigation and disaster resilience objectives.
Aidan has extensive experience leading complex, multi agency initiatives, contributing to state bushfire governance reform, and the development of contemporary planning tools and processes. A particular passion of Aidan’s career has been working alongside Aboriginal Peoples in bushfire management.
