Akeal started his geospatial career in late 2003 as a land surveyor working on topographic surveys and boundary pegging across Perth’s cadastre. After he discovered geospatial information systems, he never looked back. He has since worked in a diverse range of industries, including oil and gas, mining, engineering, environmental, energy, academia, public housing, child protection and now emergency services, as a Field Worker, Analyst, Teacher, Project Lead, Software Designer and International Consultant. His interests in geospatial information systems have always been in automation and discovering better ways of problem solving.
