Amy Crawford is a national leader in public policy and local government and serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Local Government Association, who’s member associations, represent over 538 councils across Australia. She brings more than 20 years’ experience in the Australian Public Service, including at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and as a Senior Adviser to a federal Minister. Amy’s career has been grounded in cross-jurisdiction work, where her strengths in bringing people together and navigating the federation, have helped translate policy into practical outcomes. Amy has led the design and delivery of complex policy initiatives spanning regional development, telecommunications, emergency management, and pandemic preparation. Her leadership is recognised through appointments to Boards and national advisory bodies that cover challenges in emergency management, roads, renewable energy and jobs and skills. In her spare time, she makes things up, having founded and directed an improvisation theatre troupe in Canberra for over a decade.
