Carla Mooney

Manager, Social Science and Service Policy, Bureau of Meteorology

Dr Carla Mooney is the Manager of the Social Science and Service Policy team in the Decision Support Services program at the Bureau of Meteorology. She is an applied social scientist with a breadth of experience in applied social research across the public sector, research and consultancy and has been with the Bureau for 15 years. Her work focuses on people-centred early warning system design and value cycle approaches to warning system design and evaluation. Carla is a member of the AFAC Warnings Group and is Co-Chair of the Social and Economic Research Working Group of the World Weather Research Program. Carla holds a PhD in Environmental Law and has post-graduate qualifications in Environmental Planning and Law.
