Chrissy Strickland

Senior Project Officer Operational Capability , Fire and Rescue NSW
Chrissy has been with FRNSW for 12 years and is a Senior Project Officer in Medical Capability. She is a Registered Nurse specialising in Family Child and Health, Immunisation and Infectious Diseases, resulting in her being the SME for the FRNSW COVID-19 IMT. As the President and Producer of Sydney Youth Musical Theatre Society for nearly 20 years, Chrissy produces high quality musicals each year in Sydney, though does admit, is not a huge fan of musicals! She volunteers as a Peer Support Officer for FRNSW, Life Committee Member of the FRNSW’s Relief and Welfare Fund, and mentor for disadvantaged students for the Harding Miller Foundation. Though widowed at 26, she is now a wife, mother to three girls, stepmother to two boys, and grandmother “CeCe” to nine. She is the author and regular presenter of “Never Mind Times Heals, and Other Useless Advice”, what to say, or not to say, when someone dies. Stemming from her musical theatre and public speaking background, she extended her ‘producing’ skills in all forms within FRNSW. This evolved in her volunteering 5000 hours as prime authoring and project manager of the now published, “Trailblazing, The History and Stories of Female Firefighters in Fire and Rescue NSW”.
