Dr Colin Gallagher is an Honorary Fellow with the Disaster, Climate and Adversity Unit at the University of Melbourne’s School of Population and Global Health. He serves as a senior researcher and lead qualitative analyst on Beyond Bushfires, a decade-long study into the mental health and social impacts of the Black Saturday bushfires. Colin’s research centres on social connectedness in the aftermath of disaster — drawing on social network analysis and other methods — to understand how communities recover, and what that means for practice and policy in disaster resilience.
