Darcy Prior
Darcy Prior is Team Leader of the Applied Fire Science Team with Forest Fire Management Victoria, where he leads research and science programs that support evidence-based fire and land management. Over his career, Darcy has led and contributed to numerous research projects spanning fire behaviour, fire modelling and bushfire risk assessment.
In addition to his research leadership, Darcy is an experienced operational firefighter, bringing practical frontline experience to his scientific work. He has a long history in forest fire management, working across roles that integrate fire modelling, applied research, and operational decision-making.
Darcy is passionate about bridging the gap between science and operations, ensuring that research delivers tangible benefits for those working on the fireground and across the broader emergency management sector.
