Dr David Pedder is a clinical psychologist with over ten years’ experience working in trauma‑exposed sectors and populations. He holds a PhD in psychology and combines clinical practice, research, knowledge translation, and consultancy in supporting organisations to understand and respond to the impacts of trauma. His experience spans emergency services, youth and adult mental health, health care practitioners, government, and workforces across a range of settings. In his roles, David works with organisations to strengthen their psychosocial initiatives and trauma‑informed capability through applied, evidence‑informed approaches that are practical, co-designed, and tailored. This includes contributing to service improvement, evaluation, implementation, and the development of guidance and resources. He brings an integrated clinical and organisational perspective, drawing on experience in providing psychological treatment, training, research, and advisory work. David’s work has had direct impact across police, fire, ambulance, and volunteer emergency services. This includes developing nationally endorsed guidance for tracking trauma exposure, developing and delivering an ISTSS award winning statewide specialised mental health service for police, and supporting agencies to embed best‑practice approaches within policies and initiatives. He is recognised for delivering practical, user‑centred approaches that support mental health, address psychosocial hazards, and are grounded in diverse organisational contexts.
