Public Information and Warnings Officer, Victoria State Emergency Service

Georgia is an experienced emergency communications professional specialising in Public Information and Warnings, with over five years’ experience working within Victoria’s State Control Centre. Currently the Public Information and Warnings Officer with the Victoria State Emergency Service, she plays a key role in the delivery of timely, accurate, and actionable information to communities before, during, and after emergencies.

Georgia has contributed to public information responses for some of Australia’s most significant emergency events, including the COVID-19 pandemic, Victoria’s largest recorded earthquake in 2021, the 2022 marine threat tsunami on the east coast, major flooding in New South Wales and Victoria, avian influenza, and the 2026 summer fire season.

Her expertise spans the creation and dissemination of warnings across multiple platforms, including VicEmergency, Emergency Alert, broadcast media, and social media channels. She is also deeply involved in quality assurance, stakeholder collaboration, and strengthening community understanding of the Australian Warning System.

With a background in marketing and communications, Georgia is passionate about improving the clarity, accessibility, and reach of emergency messaging. She is particularly interested in harnessing digital channels to build trust, combat misinformation, and ensure communities are better informed and prepared.
