Gerhard Maier, born in 1963 in Innsbruck, Austria, is the inventor of the air-suspended stretcher support system “HOVERBOARD,” which he developed in 1997. He graduated from the Technical Academic High School in 1981 and later studied at the Technical University of Innsbruck.
He gained extensive experience in pneumatics through his decades-long independent collaboration with Isringhausen, the leading manufacturer of air-suspended seating systems. In 1995, he completed an international business management qualification in Switzerland and subsequently founded the HOVERBOARD company.
