Jasper Francis
Growing up among the towering mountain ash of the Dandenong Ranges, Jasper developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of Victoria’s forests while also experiencing firsthand the threats posed by bushfires and storms. He is a passionate youth advocate and advisor with the Youth Affairs Council Victoria & Victoria University’s Centre of Excellence: Young People & Disasters. Jasper believes that empowering young people to get involved in their communities forms a crucial part of climate action and democracy. He is particularly interested in how communities can build resilience in the face of climate change through education, collaboration, and local grassroots action. Jasper hopes to inspire more young Australians to engage with environmental issues to help create a more sustainable, inclusive, and climate-resilient future for generations to come. His global travels, including participation in conservation projects, have deepened his understanding of the profound interconnection between human health and the natural world.
