Dr Kate White is Senior Lead, Climate Justice at Jesuit Social Services’ Centre for Just Places and a nationally respected leader working at the intersection of climate change, health, equity and systems transformation. Her work focuses on addressing the structural drivers of inequity through systems‑level change informed by the lived experience, strengths and leadership of communities facing systemic disadvantage.
Kate has more than 20 years’ experience across Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland, New Zealand and Canada, working in senior policy, strategy and leadership roles spanning environment, prevention and population health. She has led large‑scale reforms to embed equity, health and climate considerations into policy, governance and institutional practice, while strengthening place‑based and community‑driven approaches.
Prior to joining Jesuit Social Services, Kate held senior roles at the National Heart Foundation, including National Manager, Active Living and General Manager (Tasmania), and most recently led regional climate and health partnerships at the Loddon Mallee Public Health Unit (Bendigo Health).
Kate holds a PhD in Environmental Studies and is focused on bridging evidence, lived experience and governance reform to support enduring, just systems change.
