A/Prof Luana Main: is an internationally recognised human performance scientist specialising in monitoring workloads, stress, and readiness in Defence and other high demand populations. Her interdisciplinary research examines how cumulative operational stressors, including environmental extremes, influence physiological resilience, job performance, health, and well-being in frontline personnel. She integrates wearable technology and circulating biomarkers to detect early signs of performance decline and support workforce resilience. With over $2.4 million in external funding and more than 160 publications and presentations, her work has informed international policy and delivered practical tools for high-demand operational environments. Renowned for translating complex science into actionable outcomes, she actively collaborates with industry and emergency services to address real-world challenges.
