Mark Carter is an Assistant Chief Fire Officer with Fire Rescue Victoria, leading the Built Environment department and statewide teams that provide regulatory and technical advice to strengthen community and firefighter safety. With more than a decade specialising in fire safety, extensive operational command experience, and a 37-year operational career, Mark supports major infrastructure and complex built-environment projects, including subterranean transport works, and works closely with government, industry and emergency services. His teams have contributed to sector-wide responses to combustible cladding and waste and recycling fire risk, and regularly brief executives and frontline crews. Mark is an experienced presenter and is invited to speak nationally and internationally on contemporary fire safety challenges.
