Olivia Duffey began her emergency services career more than eight years ago as a volunteer firefighter in New South Wales. Driven by a lifelong connection to emergency services — with family members serving across police, fire and rescue — she quickly emerged as a leader, becoming the youngest female Senior Deputy at the time within the RFS Mid Murray Zone.
In 2022, Olivia relocated to Victoria, joining the CFA as an employee. She continues to work in the Volunteer Sustainability Team within the South East Region, delivering regional support and initiatives that strengthen volunteerism across the organisation. Committed to frontline service, Olivia also chose to continue volunteering, joining a busy local urban brigade where she remains an active firefighter in her spare time.
With a background in journalism in both print and radio, Olivia has taken a similar pathway in Incident Management Teams as an Information and Warnings Officer, Media Officer and fire photographer. Her photography has supported numerous regional projects and provided content used across CFA statewide.
A highlight of Olivia’s CFA career has been leading the South East Region Women’s Network as Project Lead, and developing the SER Women’s Challenge Camp, which has now been implemented statewide.
