Rebecca began managing recovery grants programs for Emergency Management Victoria, now known as Emergency Management Victoria, in 2024, after a few years of working in flood recovery, both at a Local and State Government level. While working for the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA), she supported the delivery of a Traditional Owner Flood Recovery Forum. This Forum highlighted the need for more targeted programs that support self-determined recovery on Country, which is why she is so grateful to have used her grants management expertise to support the Aboriginal Culture and Healing Flood Recovery Grant Program. Rebecca lives in rural Victoria, is a volunteer firefighter with the local CFA brigade and has a background in Biomedical Science, Languages and Agriculture
