Rohan Fisher

Senior Research Fellow, Charles Darwin University
Rohan Fisher is a Senior Research Fellow at Charles Darwin University with more than 30 years of experience in satellite remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). His work focuses on applying geospatial technologies to natural resource management, environmental governance in Eastern Indonesia, and savanna fire management across northern Australia. Rohan is a principal contributor to the North Australian Fire Information (NAFI) service, which provides critical fire information and mapping to land managers across approximately 80% of Australia's fire-prone landscapes. He is also Director of the Landscape Knowledge Visualisation Lab, where he develops interactive 3D terrain models that combine physical landscapes with digital projection to support communication, collaborative planning, and knowledge sharing for complex environmental and land management challenges.
