Dr Sarah Harris is a senior research and emergency management leader with more than 20 years’ experience providing strategic direction across research and development programs, with expertise in climate risk, fire behaviour and emergency management. For more than seven years she has served as Manager, Research and Development at the Country Fire Authority (CFA), leading science, research and innovation initiatives to address current and emerging challenges across the fire sector. She contributes sector-wide leadership internationally as a Board Director of the International Association of Wildland Fire (IAWF), and nationally through active involvement in AFAC and National Hazards Research Australia (NHRA) programs. During the fire season, she supports incident management operations as a Fire Behaviour Analyst Officer, providing specialist advice that informs operational decision-making in high-consequence environments.
