Sophie joined the Federation in 2024 as Senior Communications and Media Advisor. She has 10 years’ experience in not-for-profit communications, media and writing, and holds degrees in journalism, law and arts. Originally from Perth, she has communicated the work of community services, environmental groups, literary not-for-profits and international fundraising projects in various settings between home and tropical Timor-Leste. She cares deeply about the potential of communications to support, not only transmit, project work, and was a key member of the Federation’s delivery team for the Aboriginal Culture and Healing Flood Recovery Grant Program – visiting funded projects to support their reporting, promotion, and narrative-building.
