Yuxuan Yao

Yuxuan Yao is a PhD student and Research Assistant at the Graduate School of Human Sciences, the University of Osaka, Japan. Her research focuses on well-being, global cooperation, and work-life balance from a sociological perspective. She is currently working on her PhD dissertation on the comparison between academic and indigenous knowledge of well-being, with a particular focus on social science research in East Asia, as well as Japanese traditional culture, especially the Tanabata Festival. As a research assistant, she also contributes to a joint research project with the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health at the University of Melbourne. This project examines how ageing societies at different stages respond to natural disasters and build resilience.
