The AFAC powered by INTERSCHUTZ conference brings a broad spectrum of emergency management practitioners together to learn and share experiences.

Showcasing the latest research and practice across the sector, AFAC24 will feature the multi-streamed AFAC Conference, incorporating the Australian Disaster Resilience Conference and the Institution of Fire Engineers (Australia) National Conference.

AFAC24 Theme - Embracing innovation and disruption: Designing the future for our sector

There is an immediate need for fire and emergency services to adapt to be prepared for the future. Resource constraints, declining volunteer numbers and a changing climate drive the need for organisations to think differently and look for new solutions. Creating an inclusive culture that encourages new ideas and diversity of thought is key.

Engaging presentations will offer ways to actively disrupt the norm, take control and shape the way forward.

AFAC24 will explore how we can foster new thinking to ensure we are prepared for the challenges we face now and into the future.

The AFAC Conference features inspirational keynote speakers and thought leaders from across the emergency management sector. Following keynote sessions the conference splits into a multi-stream format which includes the IFE and ADRC conferences.

Australian Disaster Resilience Conference

The ADRC will be part of the AFAC Conference stream and focuses on disaster risk reduction and resilience.

Institution of Fire Engineers (AUS) National Conference

Wednesday 4 – Thursday 5 September 2024

The IFE (Australia) National Conference will focus on the key issues facing the fire engineering community. The conference will also be a stream within the AFAC conference.
